"The City of New York is voting tomorrow on whether to remove all the ghost bikes (those bikes painted white and chained to poles around NYC at sites where cyclists have been killed). I, like many others, feel these bikes are 1. a useful safety reminder to motorists and cyclists alike; 2. a tribute to fallen cyclists and a way for their loved ones to grieve; 3. a sprinkling of humanity in the great metropolis.
