Lucky's Freeride Park - The Shaolin Edition
It really wouldnt be too hard to write a paragraph after paragraph about this place. Its THAT good and fun. We spent more then 5 hours over there, riding bridges, huckin drops, pumpin boosties. Gears/suspension could help - but hardtails were a blast. Place is massive - can't even see from one end to the other. Lucky hooked up a sick 1/4 in there, a whole lil "park" area, so its not only for freeridin, or whatever it's called. I really must go back there ASAP just to finish soaking it all in. Will bring my Bottlerocket this time. Damn. If you're "lucky" enough to know where Lucky's Park is at, you're in for a treat.

Intraweb Hot Spots: BrooklynBikeRiders.com

BrooklynBikeRiders
BrooklynBikeRiders is a NYC bike site/forum that was started by Iggy, who's birthday is today, coincidentally. Happy birthday brother!
This place was the genesis of New York City big bike riding for me. Prior to this site, it was just me, my GT Backwoods and curbs/stairs all over this town - I didn't have anyone to ride with. I cant recall now how I met Iggy, but I remember him mentioning that he wanted to start a forum, BrooklynBikeRiders.
At the time he was riding a Clifcat Tankass with a Junior T upfront, which was more or less the coolest bike I've ever seen. Couple months later the forum started up and I was one of the original members. As years passed, more and more people joined in and it became a lil big bike family.
We would have weekly street rides, where a group of about 20 fellas would get together to terrorize the streets late into the night. Fun. If it wasn't for BBR, I wouldn't have met half the people I know now.
BrooklynBikeRiders is one of the best spots on the intrawebs, especially if you're a bicycling NYC local - thats why it does the honors of starting off a new series here on C2D - the Intraweb Hot Spots. We'll regularly bring up places in the matrix that we love and frequent.
Keep up the good work Iggy, and happy Bday once again.

Sad Sad news at C2D: Donde Estero
Its with great sadness that I break the latest news. If you've been wondering as to why we hear so little from Donde Estero lately, I will let you know the truth. We're in the middle of a nasty legal battle with Oprah Publishing (Estero's Head Quarters) and quite frankly it costs us over $15000/week to keep such a reporter on payroll - therefore, we have no choice but to limit his submissions to once, maaaaybe twice every few weeks. We would love to read more of his reportings, but unfortunately, its just not financial possible.
So there it is, the cat is out of the bag, now you know. From now on, only expect one or two updates a month from the great Donde, unless he finds religion and can just "donate" his time to C2D.

Haven't bought a pair of Loteks since my 3rd pair of Brooklyns got destroyed. But i'm about to cop another pair - those blue puppies in the bottom left. Nice.
