Action Bronson - Blue Chips
Well screw me sideways and call me Lucy. A new Action Bronson mixtape labeled Blue Chips is upon us.
I been a fan of this dude for awhile now, since THE very first second I heard him in fact, and seeing him live a month or two back just solidified that. There is so much music out there that its hard to listen to it all and often badass motherfuckers like Action go unnoticed and that would be a god damn shame. The dude is a wizard.
Yes, obviously, alot of his lyrics are just simple wordplay and verbal exercise, clever combinations of concepts over carefully picked musical arrangements, braggadocios stories about pulling up to fine dinning establishments in an exquisite rainy sky grey 1986 Saab 900 convertible, eating the gorgeous bare hand caught Alaskan tuna with a side salad of beautiful microgreens blessed with the finest French vinaigrette while twirling lavender purple from the Netherlands. But the way he delivers that package, it actually becomes irrelevant what he is talking about. He's a craftsman. I dunno, maybe its just me, but he makes me smile, he inspires me to write some wicked rap lyric poetry shit. On top of that, he just seems like he would be a nifty dude to lamp with. What a character. His vids are something else too.
Action, if you come across this lil blog and read the whaling of this super fan, hit me up, lets eat some fine Poutine along with some Foie Gras on a spot of a five spice loaf with a glass vessel of delicate Bordeaux grapes. Hell, I'd even momentarily come out of the retirement and procure an artisan skilled bing bing to toast with.

Action Bronson - Pats himself on the back

This is Bronson - representing Flushing, Queens on the map
So, I went to a Action Bronson show last night - which turned out to be the most fun I've EVER had at a hiphop show. Ever. Many pics and vids to come soon, but right now I'm a bit busy roasting a lamb over an open fire, so I leave you with this vid below.
One thing to note though... I dont burn anymore, but sweet jesus. Besides stepping out with 2 fatties rolled up and one blazing, Action came on to stage with a few zips worth of twenties and started tossing them into the crowd. Needless to say folks went NUTTY. First time I've EVER seen that at a show. I think weed might be going out of style. Foolery!

Danny Brown @ Fools Gold Holiday Party
Danny Brown dropped 3 tracks and predictably the crowd went wild. Below find some pics and vids. Lots of people were in the building. Qtip got on stage and so did ASAP Rocky. Action Bronson was cruising through the crowd. A-trak was there, bouncin. Many more hiphoppidy artists as well, who I can't think of right now. A quick lil moshpit broke out and I almost got my dome taken off by Mr. Browns swingin arms, so him and I are close now.
Only in NYC can one see two of his favorite MC's perform AND shake both their hands and tell them how good of a job they are doing all in one swoop. Well, make it 3, Mr. Muthafukin Exquire next week!
Anyway - enjoy the pics and vids. The video is so damn close and in your face, I bet you'll feel like you're there. The moshpit vid is a bit worthless and is presented to just show how much fun the party was and to try to convey the atmosphere, which was FRESH. 2 more vids are coming soon, after the Youtubes decide to load them up.

Speaking of Action Brownson and Rapster singers, I recently stumbled upon these Fader interview/featurettes of sort about 3 of my favorite ones at the moment. I would like to just go ahead and share them with you, if I may, and I believe you will find a hint of enjoyment in them. I do. Have a go at them.
Action Bronson & Static Selektah - Well Done
We here at C2D really been diggin Action Bronson. As we call it around here, he got that Jesus Churned Butter Sauce (JCBS). The man is a wordsmith, a humorist and a foodie - 3 qualities that makes one more then likely a fun type of person to chill with. Cracking a joke while pan searing a duck breast with a side of balsamic onion marmalade, and then busting a few crafty bars right after is a valuable characteristic. While we may frown upon, not condone and judge him harshly on all the abusive soft narcotic usage we still believe that baby Jesus will accept him when it's go time.
Anyway, luckily for us, and you, he just dropped a new album, aided by swift beat making experience of Static Selektah. There are quite a few choice gems on this selection of tracks, one of which, Not Enough Words, is presented below in its video form. You may download this album over here. Make sure you do, you will not be disappointed. Enjoy.

Make your own pickles in the refrigerator - you know what I'm doing this weekend. Mmmm.
Action Bronson getting busy in the kitchen with a little simple Frittata he quickly tosses together. Eh! His beats bang and both his mixtapes/albums are ill, but more on that later.
Sage General Store right next to PS1 serves up some ridiculous grub. I was there a few months back before PS1 Warmup this summer, laid a good base for heavy drinking. I been kind of nerding out with the Diners, Drive-ins and Dives show - so it was pretty funny when I came across this segment. Queens on the map!
