Shook Guns Part 12
Rocking the SCAR at ACTS Match
So, it's been a while since the last Shook Guns installment. Shit happens. Life goes on.
Every month I drive down to Tucson to hang with T-Murda, drink stupid amounts of beer (and sometimes 4LOKO), and shoot the ACTS Match. This is my favorite competition of all of them that I shoot, because there is always a physical exertion element, and the stages challenge you and your equipment. It was approximately 100deg F at the match yesterday (and its only fucking April...that's how fucking hard we roll in AZ), and I was hungover as fuck, yet I still managed to DOMINATE this match and take 2nd place...literally 2 seconds behind my friend Russell in overall time.
Here's what it looked like:
(in the order that I shot the match...)
STAGE 4:
This stage had the farthest target, which was a torso-sized steel plate around 100yds away. The shooter had 30 seconds to hit the plate as many times as possible, firing not more than 1 round from each position, then moving thru the obstacles. I tied a few folks for the most hits (7), and moved thru the course with ease
STAGE 1:
This stage required several relays carrying a Kettle-Bell (which was heavier than it looks) while engaging targets with rifle and then pistol. I missed a LOT on this stage, especially with the pistol, which cost me 1st place. But its hard to shoot a pistol when you are hot and sweaty and hungover and tired; which is why we train like this.
STAGE 2:
One target, two shooting positions. 10 hits needed, with no more than 10 seconds expended between shots or you had to take extra penalty shots (I didn't have to take any extra shots). Looks simple but it was pretty fucking exhausting.
STAGE 3:
Start on back, rifle unloaded. Knock down the barrels and steel plates with the empty rifle, then shoot pistol targets as they become visible.
Lots of fun this month. I will try to upload videos of future matches both here and on my youtube channel (DMFL23)

2011 Annual C2D Board Meeting Roundup
2011 Annual C2D Board Meeting Roundup has come and gone.
Donde Estero, Accatone Becchino and myself, Sir Curtis Chorizali had much to discuss as we met around and about Brooklyn and Manhattan, drankin massive amounts of pints all over the damn place, over a few blazing summer days. Gatito Terristo, our infamous intern, was following us around with 80 pounds of photo/video equipment as he was being punished for leaving the AC on at the office overnight for the second day in the row.
How are we doing? Where are we going? When are we going to find time to count all this money coming in from all them cozie and sticker sales? How many more bikes can Curtis buy before the stiffs notice the petty cash being short? How many interns does Donde have to abuse before one of them snaps and sets the office on fire? Why did Accatone bring along with him a wimpy SCAR16s with them tiny noodle rounds instead of the meaty SCAR17S? Doesn't he know that Brooklyn is not like Arizona and you need to pack real heat and not that Toys R Us shit? Everyone felt entitled to voice their dissapointment at me blowing over half the weekly C2D budget on my European excursion. T-shirt designs were talked about. Events discussed. Collaborations tossed about. As we were making it rain and hail at Pumps everyone agreed that we are making it happen and 2011 will be the best year yet. So sincere.
Basically, serious business all around. This year we plan on bringing more original content then ever as well as a few new items to our online store. With a oodles of new series about to kick off and a bunch of sweet interviews lined up, we are thrilled that so many of you keep comming back for more on the daily. Thank you!

The First Thing That I'm Doing there is Buying a Knife
That right there is a quote from Accatone of the Shook Guns fame. The C2D NYC HQ has sent some of our team out to the West Coast to reunite with the AZ chapter, to get into trouble and then write about it. Don't bother coming back without a Police report. And try to have fun too.

Accatone in the Sky
Remember Accatone from the infamous Shook Guns series? Well, he's been a bit MIA as of late but using our proprietary spying software one of the interns here at C2D was recently able to track him down. Rumor has it, the dude is hard at work on a new Shook Guns feature that will blow your mind.
