5050 Skate Park Halloween BMX Jam 2012
Hell yea, who's ready for this?? You had me a rideable ambulance. To tell the truth, you had me at Ernest!!! Know what I mean Vern? People probably don't even get that reference any more. That dude was everywhere. Commercials, movies, even a kids TV show
So there ya have, a BMX jam this saturday, where hopefully I'll see at least one zombie Jim Varney costume.
354 Front Street
Staten Island
PS - I'm not gonna make a separate post about it, cuz the more people that know about it, the fuckin worse it gets, but hopefully Bike Kill will be happening this weekend too. So get your tetanus shots in advance. This evidence makes me feel confidence it will be on and poppin as well. So be ready for that Staten Island/Bedstuy journey.

Edwin De La Rosa - Through My Eyes
Man, I love New York. This town knows how to party. Over the past few years the party scene kind of fell off for me, the worst part being wack DJ's playing crap, jacks of all trade, masters of none. Gloomy people looking tough. The whole scene just too serious.
That's a bit of a tangent, but the point is, last night Edwin had his photo show opening and the spot was bumping. Heavy business. The second you walk in and see a huge photo of a ridiculous wallride right next to Edwins bike mixed in with the DJ blastin some Mobb, you knew it was gonna be something special. Then you stumble to the open bar and get a free brew. Then you are greeted by Edwin who is nice as hell on and off the bike. Nothing but respect for the dude and his crafts - we here at C2D support this all day. Place was packed with sick riders. It was like a Brooklyn Banks reunion. Don't forget some smokin bitties in attendance. Oooh weee. No joke, my friends. You should have been there! As cheezy as this sounds, this was the best party I've been to in a long loooong time, and we party all the damn time over here at C2D, its a requirement.
And as with any good party, at the end the cops showed up - they even blocked in the street with their whips to make the appearance official.
To sum it up, Edwin, thank you for a good time!

Cuts Premier
I went to the cuts premier yesterday...it was ok, brought a 24oz corona to pass the time. the spot itself was pretty gully. the turnout was cool - the whole tri-state bmx scene showed up. everyone packed into the space and stood for an hour watchin the video. it felt like standing in an un-air-conditioned packed rush hour train, stuck in the middle of the tunnel during mid summer, sweat just pouring out. being so uncomfortable, it was hard to concentrate on the video...after 30 minutes, already covered in sweat, I just wanted to get outa there. but I fared well, saw the whole thing through.

Anson BMW ACL bikecheck
Caught up with Anson YoWelli Wellington recently and he had some nice words to say about his signature frame Brooklyn Machine Works ACL - and the bike built around it. Been meaning to get a bike check from him for awhile - for the amount of abuse Anson dishes out to this ride, it remains set up crispy and feels tight like a drum. The second you get on it, you feel right at home. The fork might seem a bit steep, but the bars balance it out quite lovely.
Here is what Anson had to say:
"I like my Brooklyn ACL, it's everything I want in a bike, it's responsive, strong, and doesn't nag me (like needing repairs every month). Its pretty lite at 27lbs with solid parts, I can easily get it sub 25 or even 24 but I want to feel secure, you know, don't want to worry when I bail or when I throw it at the ground. I recently put pegs on cause I've been riding more street than dirt on it lately (yes I actually ride the trails sometimes) and it feels solid on the grinds. The geo is tight too so big hops and spins can go down without blowing out a hernia. I love my bike not to sound soft but it puts a good feeling in my heart when I ride it, just point and shoot."
