5050 Skate Park Halloween BMX Jam 2012

Hell yea, who's ready for this??  You had me a rideable ambulance.    To tell the truth, you had me at Ernest!!!   Know what I mean Vern?   People probably don't even get that reference any more.   That dude was everywhere.  Commercials, movies, even a kids TV show

So there ya have, a BMX jam this saturday, where hopefully I'll see at least one zombie Jim Varney costume.

354 Front Street
Staten Island

PS - I'm not gonna make a separate post about it, cuz the more people that know about it, the fuckin worse it gets, but hopefully Bike Kill will be happening this weekend too.   So get your tetanus shots in advance.   This evidence makes me feel confidence it will be on and poppin as well.  So be ready for that Staten Island/Bedstuy journey.

Edwin De La Rosa - Through My Eyes

Man, I love New York. This town knows how to party. Over the past few years the party scene kind of fell off for me, the worst part being wack DJ's playing crap, jacks of all trade, masters of none. Gloomy people looking tough. The whole scene just too serious.

That's a bit of a tangent, but the point is, last night Edwin had his photo show opening and the spot was bumping. Heavy business. The second you walk in and see a huge photo of a ridiculous wallride right next to Edwins bike mixed in with the DJ blastin some Mobb, you knew it was gonna be something special. Then you stumble to the open bar and get a free brew. Then you are greeted by Edwin who is nice as hell on and off the bike. Nothing but respect for the dude and his crafts - we here at C2D support this all day. Place was packed with sick riders. It was like a Brooklyn Banks reunion. Don't forget some smokin bitties in attendance. Oooh weee. No joke, my friends. You should have been there!  As cheezy as this sounds, this was the best party I've been to in a long loooong time, and we party all the damn time over here at C2D, its a requirement.

And as with any good party, at the end the cops showed up - they even blocked in the street with their whips to make the appearance official.

To sum it up, Edwin, thank you for a good time!

Snowscrappers NYC Event - Feb 5th

Snowscrappers Redbull event was pretty damn fun. It was mighty freezing - sneakers was probably a WRONG footwear for this one. Lots of talent bustin tricks. Lots of spins and grabs. It was awesome. Almost as awesome as catching some pints of Brooklyn right after - courtesy of Odyssey Compact Sprocket and Andrew from the late but great Domino fame - Thanks Brother. However, the highlight of the night was the Create2Destroy afterparty which took place at a hidden location. 10 lucky C2D readers/callers who left messages were invited to join the madness. Only took one shot of the party, but I think its a good one. We had some stripper/gogo dancers shake it up snowboarding style. Hope you like. Hope you're lucky enough to come to the next one. C2D team is serious like a bacon egg and cheese on a croissant, toasted with butter.

RedBull Snowscrappers

As was mentioned previously, the Redbull Snowscrappers event is tonight, 6pm, be there. Anthrax + others are performing. Get ready to be wild and wicked. Its perfectly FREEEEEEEZING out today, BRICK, so this should be fun. Luckily there is going to be a crowd, so hopefully this will cut down on the wind factor. C2D will be there, camera ready, so expect a full report. I took some sneak peek shots of the ramps from the Williamsburg bridge J train last night and this morning - but I'm guessing RedBull is using some multi billion dollar technology to blur the shots - so even our super modern DSC-W90 couldnt capture them.
Get ready for Tonight!!!

Snowscrappers NYC Event - Feb 5th

I'll be there.
Evertime i train it across Willyburg bridge i see the GIGANTIC setup growing and growing.
Cant wait. something like 7 stories tall for the run in, 5 story tall jump, 3 story tall landing = all nasty. Be there, I sure will be. Redbull never dissapoints as far as the extreme events go. As far as taste and function, thats another story.

Redbull Experiment BMX World Record Event - June 12th Central Park

Tommorow afternoon at Central Park in NYC (near the Bandshell on 72nd st) there will be one bad ass event. Kevin Robinson will attempt to beat the world record of 26'6" held by no other but Matt Hoffman - Kevins sponsor. The ramp is massive, the goal - 27' - is massive, and there is no doubt that this will be ridiculous. Cant wait. 7pm. June 12th 08. Be there.

I snapped these yesturday - its the ramp being built up. Hot Dang, its large.
