Foggy Manhattan

I don't think I've ever seen NYC as foggy as this morning. Nice hot coffee and a walk through the park on a drizzly day, what a treat.

Jetski around NYC

Few days ago a bike ride took my boy and I down by the east river and as we sat there catching a breather we saw a bunch of hooligans on jetski's fly by. Snap. THAT looked like fun. Immediately a wicked day dream appeared, visions of looping around whole damn island of Manhattan, catching some Brooklyn, zooming swiftly as Queens, Willaimsburg, Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges pass in rapid succession, floating under the Verazzano bridge a few minutes later, doing a lil lap around Statue of Liberty - all while flipping the fuck out and yelling wild shit.

Well, some day dreams are meant to become reality, easily. In come in Jettyjumpers. These people rent you a jetski for up to 3 hours and let you tear around. There are actually a few other companies around NYC who do the same thing, so who you get your jetski from is not important. Yes, its far from cheap, be ready to drop a few hundred, but hey - experience will be priceless. PRICELESS.

I will most definitely be bringing my GoPro HD along - I assure you that. While you await for C2D exclusive footy from this wild water safari, feast your eyes on some images and lil youtube I found on the webs. I found these photos on Kontain.com - they are by Anton Repponen. What a set of moody pics. Oh, I know its hard to tell, but I'm excited!!!

Friday Night Throwdown

This past Friday there was a pretty damn sweet event that went on called Friday Night Throwdown. Boxing, beer, music all mixed up into one. This was their second event and it took place in the upstairs restaurant part of the Chinatown Mall under Manhattan bridge. Fun was had. Night was cut short because the owner of the restaurant didn't realize or expect that 1000 rowdy people showed up ready to get wicked. Epic times. Pardon the blurry pics - beer was involved in taking those. Good job - looking forward to the next event.

Highbridge Skatepark makes bicyclists happy

Our C2D spy got some potential pics of the concrete rampwork that may or may not happen at Highbridge park uptown Manhattan. This would be ultimately exciting, since the dirtjumps/skatepark combo could be a superfun way to spend a day! I sure hope this happens and happens soon. Who's excited?

Pier 62 Concrete Skatepark makes my underpants wet

I know this is reality, but I must go see this with my own eyes before I believe it.
Concrete bowls in Manhattan, what? Bikes better be allowed - or there will be much rioting.
THAT PARK IS LOOKING GOOOOOOOOOD - so many lines!
Anyone know when its opening up?
Thank you to BrooklynBikeRiders for the letting me steal the pics.

Snowscrappers NYC Event - Feb 5th

Snowscrappers Redbull event was pretty damn fun. It was mighty freezing - sneakers was probably a WRONG footwear for this one. Lots of talent bustin tricks. Lots of spins and grabs. It was awesome. Almost as awesome as catching some pints of Brooklyn right after - courtesy of Odyssey Compact Sprocket and Andrew from the late but great Domino fame - Thanks Brother. However, the highlight of the night was the Create2Destroy afterparty which took place at a hidden location. 10 lucky C2D readers/callers who left messages were invited to join the madness. Only took one shot of the party, but I think its a good one. We had some stripper/gogo dancers shake it up snowboarding style. Hope you like. Hope you're lucky enough to come to the next one. C2D team is serious like a bacon egg and cheese on a croissant, toasted with butter.
