There must be pee in your cereal

Cruising in the bike lane at a good clip, and passed within 2 feet or so from a swerving runner. Zoom.

Runner Guy: DICK!!!

The man wants conversation, a discussion of sorts perhaps, alrighty then, I slow my steed to a gentle pace.

Me: How rude! You know this is a bike lane and that its indeed legal and safer to run on the sidewalk right?
Runner Guy: Go fuck yourself!
Me: As long as your promise to run in my way when I do that.
Runner Guy: Fucafhdsfhadosifahlkd

As I sped away the feeling of victory was overwhelming.

Just a casual commute to work on a gorgeous spring day. Came across 3 cop cars pulling over a fancy Benz, nicely blocking a bikelane on Flushing Ave for good 8 car lengths, as well as a all time favorite schoolbus driven by the super fans of religion doing the bike lane dash so the shrimp can bob onto the sidewalk, but unfortunately the ol' memory card on the GoPro was full and didn't capture the magic. Ugh. Gotta remember to dump it regularly.

This was the first time I rode with a chest strap in the city. Its nerdy enough to have a GoPro on your bike, its a whole another level of nerdiness to have it as a chest strap. See? The fashion sacrifices we make to bring you, the avid C2D reader, cutting edge awesomeness.

It was just another day of commuting by bike. A few punks in the bike lanes, a hasidic schoolbus breaking traffic laws and being inconsiderate, wild pedestrians asking to get hit. Good times in Brooklyn.

17 Million years ago when roses were red and cookies were had I rode to work on my two wheeled sled. I'm a poet and I didn't even know it.

A digital capturing device named GoPro HD (HD stands for High Definition) was attached to the seat tube of my velocipede using a plastic clip. This video camera of sorts was facing backwards and recording photographic imagery onto its Secure Digital flash card of 32 Giga Byte capacity (some know them as SD Cards, and to be precise there is only about 29.96 Giga Bytes of actual storage space) in intervals of 2 seconds.

Below is a selection of images that I thought may be of interest to you, the reader, as they capture the short but fun trip through Bedford Stuyvesant, Fort Greene and Dumbo neighborhoods of Brooklyn, New York.

Please do enjoy.

Spinclacity Crispy n Fresh Edition

Nice and crispy out there this morning. Nothing much to note from the trip, besides being a bit cold until the WinterSilks started doing their job. Didn't have the GoPro with me this morning, either way. So I was like hell, there hasn't been any cycling updates in a bit, so let me use these shots from April - it was just as chilly anyway. Been riding a bit wreckless lately, extreme super fast mega speed spaceship floating tourist scaring few lagers deep side walk fixed gear freestyle hopin skid for no reason at all but to just look cool wild stylee. Like my boy Pusha T would say, YUGH! (peep the Cinelli x Mash bike few pics down, nice colors, hmmmmm)

Spinclacity 11.3.11 aka This One Time v9

So as I set off on my morning commute and come outside the gates I see a NYPD cruiser dash across the 2 ways street and park on the wrong side, half way up on the sidewalk. Clearly official and emergency police business is about to take place. I pause to observe. The text book definition of a big white police officer comes out and starts walking towards a dude who is standing on the sidewalk, holding a bike rack. Withing seconds it became apparent that they connected through Craigslist and this was a sale - popo man is examining the bike rack, money out. Nothing to see here, I thought.

Then all of a sudden I hear "Wait wait WAAAAAAIT..... where is the 1/4" adapter?" "What adapter? There is no adapter" "Maaaan, you advertised that there is a fuckin 1/4" adapter, I told you I have 2 fuckin cars and now you wasted my fuckin time with this shit? What a fuck, I drove all the way from Bronx for this shit, you're an ass". All of this, very very loud. Very very wearing a NYPD uniform standing next to a Caprice parked half way on the sidewalk, the wrong way. Wish my camera was on. Seconds later the cop took off - I accidentally ran a red light right in front of him, and feared the worst - but I guess he was either bike friendly cop or was too pissed to see me breaking the law.

My commute was on its way.

Lil bike lane parking. Good job.
Classic example of the Hasidic Dash. Parking across a 2 way street for 20 seconds, blocking traffic both ways just so kiddies can get on a school bus. Classy.

Squeeeeez.
