New Poll: How Do You Productively Spend Your Time?

Day trading, working on your own business, or maybe you are studying for you masters/phd. Those are all good answers, but lets not fool ourselves here, if you are lucky enough to have a job now, it's probably at a much lower pay rate than your used to. Shit, you might just be thankful to have that extension on your unemployment. That being the case, if your not drowning your sorrows with heavy doses of alcohol and drugs and inching by day to day in a lethargic manner, the most productive thing you are doing nowadays is playing video games (or writing shitty blogs, riding bikes, selling dope, etc... but i guess that's another poll). Look, that sounds bleak, but it's better than planning crime sprees and murdering people that are pushing you too far (collection callers, im talking to you). Consider yourself the hero of the dying economy, you are keeping commerce alive by putting your hard earned dollars back into the system.

So, I guess the next step is, how broke are you (ie. which system)?

Did you settle for a Sega Genesis from Goodwill after returning all those empty bottles?
Maybe bought an Xbox360 with your tax refund (nice investment)
Maybe you had to go back to your folks attic and dig that atari 2600 out.
Maybe you thought a ps3 was a wise choice since it comes with a bluray player and instead of cable you can watch streaming shows thru it online.....

These things happen, we are not judging.
But seriously if anyone has a working copy of super dodge ball for original NES holler!!! I want in, that game was the shit!!

Bike Thief Gets Worked - NYC

This dude tried to steal a bike in broad daylight right on 1st st/1st ave. Apparently he pulled out a drill and tried to drill out the bike lock - RIGHT in front of the owner. OOPS. Thats some balls right there. Helmet and bag on just to blend in and appear to be a very awkward, but regular biker. Funniest part, the dude is trying to apologize. A bit too late for that, no? He got lucky that this scene took places in the middle of Manhattan and in front of tons of people.

I had 2 bikes stolen, and that's one shitty feeling...

"Here's the story. I was having brunch on first ave and first street with a a couple of friends including Alfred .It was a pretty sunny day and a good there was a good amount of pedestrian traffic .Nothing unusual. Alfred went out to make a call and spotted someone looking over his bike. Nothing unusual ,he got a hot ass cannondale with hot ass wheels.the guy was average looking,had a helmet and a bag.looked like your average joe casual biker.Suddenly this dude gets on his knees and pulls out a drill.At first Alfred thought he wanted to steal his wheels,until he saw the drill.Is this what it has come out to?!people stealing bike with drills?Anyways as he was getting ready to drill the ulock,Alfred comes in the restaurant and yells,!yooooo someones trying to steal my bike,lets go get him.and let me tell you this ass hole tried stealing the wrong bike.first it was a bike messengers bike and second it was Alfred's bike and the motherFkr got a temper sometimes.so we roll out to this dude and start pounding him.my first instinct was to get my U lock and bang on him,but my bike was already locked up so , we bumbrushed this dude and started pounding him.Everybody is watching and wondering why this dude is being plumeted ,but at that point we don't give a fuck.we had to make sure this asshole dosen't do it again.me personal i have had 2 bikes stolen,in like a month apart.fuck that shit.he did't even look like a bike thief!so while pounding him i reach out to put my phone in my pocket and realized i had a camera on my wait.i pulled it out and captured the second half of the beating!"

Zach Feuer Gallery is pleased to present the gallery's first exhibition of work by Dasha Shishkin.

The artist's economy of line, coupled with her use of bright blocks of color, create intricate compositions that vary from complex scenes of human interaction to patterning and design void of human figures.

Shishkin often uses found materials employing their imperfections and the existing image as a catalyst for her work. Alternating between obliterating and accentuating the found image with acrylic, crayon, ink and graphite, the artist transforms the repeating designs on fragments of wallpaper and fabric into complex images of the life cycle.

Re-occurring visual motifs in Shishkin's work on chintz are found in the work on canvas. These works are first painted gold to emphasize the imperfections in the canvas which then give shape to scenes of sensory overload capturing the romance, eroticism, humor and violence. The artist presents herself as benevolent creator, witness, and detached teller, but not a judge. As such, Shishkin does not narrate the stories from which the images come, but presents them to the viewer to decode.

Dasha Shishkin was born 1977 in Moscow and now lives and works in New York. She has participated in exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art, New York; P.S. 1, New York; the Kunsthalle Hamburg and the Kunsthalle Vienna. Her work is represented in the collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; the Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich; Hamburger Kunsthalle; The Dallas Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art, New York. This autumn, Shishkin's work will be featured in the exhibition Embrace at the Denver Museum of Art.

Do you ever drink/burn before a bike ride?

So, do you? You DO know its not legal right? Just don't get caught, cause you'll surely feel like a retard getting a DUI for riding a kids bike.
35% of you have the right idea... while 23% of you have the idea that ALL of us should have, but don't.
I tend to be more of a 17% type of rider, which pretty much ensures that I will never ever ever learn anything new or stop injuring myself, but it always seems like a good idea before the fact.

Alot of people who ride trails sip and twist all day, nothing wrong with that, since all that diggin is involved... but if you're riding street/park?

I think that drinkin a lil something after a exhausting bike ride is where its at. Nothing like catching a ice cold pint after a ride and before a ride home, when u're all tired out. Ahhh, I love that.

Whats the moral? Stay sober, stay focused, stay healthy, stay safe, stay cool and skillful. Choose life, and to quote my boy Renton from Trainspotting....
