An Android based open source affordable gaming system. This actually sounds very neat. All games are free to try out. Touchscreen controller - making all the Android/iPhone game ports a breeze, as well as traditional thumb sticks/buttons. Wifi, Bluetooth, HDMI, the works. Major publishers backing it. You're encouraged to hack the system and games. You're encouraged to create and publish your own ideas. All in a neat and attractive looking little 100$ package. Sign me up. I've heard the name Ouya before but never looked into it - with its launch around Spring 2013, I might have to sign up for one.

Fun'n'Games v16: Battlefield 3 = Whaaaaaaatttt???

Holy Fuck People!!!
I don't even play video games, but this shit is getting WAAAAY too out of control. I'm about to go buy a new huge TV and whatever type of hardware it takes to support this game. I held out during GTA4, and Left For Dead, even though it killed me to not participate. But this shit is too much...this is like, you might as well fuckin enlist because that's how real this shit is. I can't cope...

And yeah, it's 12 minutes long, so you might hesitate to start it (like I did), but once you do you will fucking want to finish it!!!

Red Dead Redemption and Just Cause 2

Fuck me. That's how I'm going to start out this post. If you're not a videogamer - good for you, you're saving your time/money/braincells/jesus. Very nice. I'm a videogamer. And as a seasoned videogame nerd I'm telling you - THESE TWO GAMES WILL BE THE NIPPLES.
We here at C2D Headquarters are already scheeming on a all night party when Just Cause 2 drops. Next month. I swear. I really really want to write something convincing here to make those who do not care pick up these games - but in actuality - I want these all for myself. To better my chances of picking these up the second they are popped on the shelf, I'm encouraging all of you to forget you saw this post just like you were going to anyway. But if you care - watch the videos below and say it with me. WOW.

Dirt 2 and video games

Dirt 2 came out this past tuesday. I love racing games, rally especialy, so naturally I picked it up. And? Its awesome. I love it. This might just be the best racing game I've ever had. The feeling of racing from the cockpit/hood camera is unsurpassed. Sense of speed, engine noise, different road textures playing around with the grip... what a great time.
Now of course NFS Shift is dropping next week - and its going to be sweet as well, AND, I might have to pick that one up too. Just doing my part. Then we got Uncharted 2 half way through October - and then GranTurismo 5 is finaly dropping. Busy busy busy.


That of course brings us to the main point. Why does it seem that C2D readers don't play videogames. I mean, 100s of visitors a day, and only 7 voted on the videogame system poll? Pathetic. Do me a favor, go to a videogame store, buy yourself a PS3/Xbox360 (don't bother with the Wii unless you're 11 or are retarded) , and have a god damn blast. Don't forget to pick up a huge 1080p LCD, or it just won't be the same. Go on.

New Poll: How Do You Productively Spend Your Time?

Day trading, working on your own business, or maybe you are studying for you masters/phd. Those are all good answers, but lets not fool ourselves here, if you are lucky enough to have a job now, it's probably at a much lower pay rate than your used to. Shit, you might just be thankful to have that extension on your unemployment. That being the case, if your not drowning your sorrows with heavy doses of alcohol and drugs and inching by day to day in a lethargic manner, the most productive thing you are doing nowadays is playing video games (or writing shitty blogs, riding bikes, selling dope, etc... but i guess that's another poll). Look, that sounds bleak, but it's better than planning crime sprees and murdering people that are pushing you too far (collection callers, im talking to you). Consider yourself the hero of the dying economy, you are keeping commerce alive by putting your hard earned dollars back into the system.

So, I guess the next step is, how broke are you (ie. which system)?

Did you settle for a Sega Genesis from Goodwill after returning all those empty bottles?
Maybe bought an Xbox360 with your tax refund (nice investment)
Maybe you had to go back to your folks attic and dig that atari 2600 out.
Maybe you thought a ps3 was a wise choice since it comes with a bluray player and instead of cable you can watch streaming shows thru it online.....

These things happen, we are not judging.
But seriously if anyone has a working copy of super dodge ball for original NES holler!!! I want in, that game was the shit!!

Afro Samurai - Gamespot Video Review

Video reviews are out about this game. I'm still pretty excited about it and I'll deff try it out - however there seems to be some problems with it. But, there is over the top violence and chopping people in half, then watching as they drag their upper body along using just hands until they collapse - so thats pretty much worth it right there. RZA sound too.

Afro Samurai The Video Game

Man, forget it. If someone told me there is a game dropping where RZA did the soundtrack, i would be all over it. Then if someone mentioned Samuel Jackson is doing voiceovers and dropping signature one lines.... i'd be even more excited. Then if someone told you its a Afro Samurai game, where you can chop peeps up ninja style with bigass swords..... i would just bug out.

Midnight Club Los Angeles

Picked this game up last night. What a great great great game, at least so far. I only got to play for an hour or so. Best incar view + customization out of any racing game i've ever played. Peep the donked up Golf i threw together. She's a 1983, bought it for like 2 grand. OBVIOUSLY i had to throw some 24s on it with a 3" lift - who drops cars anymore? Flat black. Engine is stock, for right now, but ya'll just wait.

Mirror's Edge Rocks and 2D Game

Earlier this week EA/Dice released a pretty slick game called Mirror's Edge... Behind the evil government terrorism shmeal plot there is a pretty cool parkour gameplay concept that is damn fun. Judging by the demo, the game is mighty sweet, since you get to leap across rooftops and run on walls 30 floors up, all from first person view, which is a first for this type of game. Controls are simple and very straightforward which lets your just flow the obstacles.

Some people created a 2d version of the game. Granted its no where near as fun as the original - but its a neat waste of 5 minutes. Check it out.
