Netflix to become Quikster and Netflix

Hmmm. Sure, its kind of neat that you will now be able to rent video games along with movies, but this split is kind of weak. I guess they want to be able to jack each price individually as time goes on. I will still have the DVD by mail and the streaming option, but this does feel like a bit of a greedy move. Time will tell. By now surely every Netflix subscriber has received the same email in their inbox. It didnt need to be that long, what a crap-pile of words. A few did stick out though... Actions speak louder than words. But words help people to understand actions. I believe in change, and this one may not be a bad one.

Skate 3 Demo + Bonus Hidden Area

I've always been a fan of the Skate series, and it keeps getting better. This new installment has some new shit to play with, my favorite being darksides, which the series has always been lacking in my book. Also, the player physics are entertaining, the bails, the runouts, the sloppy falls. A definite improvement. Now, the free demo is 20 min, but you can restart instantly after the timer runs out, so it doesnt really even effect game play.

It is a bit tortuous at times, as you can see areas off in the distance, but you can't get there. As you start to go out of bounds, the screen gets staticy and eventually resets you back in boundary. Well, over the weekend I noticed a way past the boundary, that pretty much doubles the playable area, which is dope!! A bunch more crazy shit to skate on, after you get bored with the area they explicitly give you.

Now, I aint crafty enough to record a video showing you how to do it, and i'm sure someone else has already done it, so check youtube i guess. But, in words its damn easy. when you start the demo, it spawns you in a courtyard facing a bank (the first challenge). go down the bank and head towards the alley leading to the belltower area. dont go all the way to the tower, just that direction. when you pass the t-mobile building, go left down that alleyway, but stick to the far right of it. It will start to get staticy, and you will think yer gonna get booted, but the static goes away, and you have a massive area to skate on now**. While here, you cannot record, playback, or use spawn points, and at one point it froze up my ps3, but oh well.

Comes out may 11th

**youtube def has plenty links to show ya how to this, and other spots as well.

ah yes, with three seconds left, while in the online play menu, his the playstation menu button that takes you back to PS home screen and wait for jason lee to quit talkin, then go back in and hit  x to restart.   you will spawn in the courtyard by the odd lookin pyramid type thing

PS3 and Netflix - Its On

Its officially on - PS3 can now stream Netflix directly - no need to hook up your big screen to the compy any longer. Go to Netflix so they send you a free install disc of some sort to get things popping. Now you just gotta figure out what method you want to use to get some cinema into your system. A PS3 that is equal to running like 3 full size refrigerators or PC that is more like half a fridge. Hmmm - I'd say PS3 cuz that way you don't even have to peel yourself off the couch to get a movie going and you get 1,500 coolness points for using the newest tech available.

Dirt 2 and video games

Dirt 2 came out this past tuesday. I love racing games, rally especialy, so naturally I picked it up. And? Its awesome. I love it. This might just be the best racing game I've ever had. The feeling of racing from the cockpit/hood camera is unsurpassed. Sense of speed, engine noise, different road textures playing around with the grip... what a great time.
Now of course NFS Shift is dropping next week - and its going to be sweet as well, AND, I might have to pick that one up too. Just doing my part. Then we got Uncharted 2 half way through October - and then GranTurismo 5 is finaly dropping. Busy busy busy.

That of course brings us to the main point. Why does it seem that C2D readers don't play videogames. I mean, 100s of visitors a day, and only 7 voted on the videogame system poll? Pathetic. Do me a favor, go to a videogame store, buy yourself a PS3/Xbox360 (don't bother with the Wii unless you're 11 or are retarded) , and have a god damn blast. Don't forget to pick up a huge 1080p LCD, or it just won't be the same. Go on.

Afro Samurai - Gamespot Video Review

Video reviews are out about this game. I'm still pretty excited about it and I'll deff try it out - however there seems to be some problems with it. But, there is over the top violence and chopping people in half, then watching as they drag their upper body along using just hands until they collapse - so thats pretty much worth it right there. RZA sound too.

Midnight Club Los Angeles

Picked this game up last night. What a great great great game, at least so far. I only got to play for an hour or so. Best incar view + customization out of any racing game i've ever played. Peep the donked up Golf i threw together. She's a 1983, bought it for like 2 grand. OBVIOUSLY i had to throw some 24s on it with a 3" lift - who drops cars anymore? Flat black. Engine is stock, for right now, but ya'll just wait.

Playstation 3 Keypad

These just came out. They seem to be pretty nice, besides being a neat lil keyboard, the whole keyboard pad is a "touchpad", kind of like a touchpad mouse on a laptop.
Could be nice for browsing the webs on the big screen through your ps3, or typing out some message to a fellow videogame nerd about something rather. Its receiving mixed reviews on the internets, but its a must buy for me - i'm really not in the mood for having a keyboard/mouse laying around in my living room. Nice, small, sleek. I like.

Mirror's Edge Rocks and 2D Game

Earlier this week EA/Dice released a pretty slick game called Mirror's Edge... Behind the evil government terrorism shmeal plot there is a pretty cool parkour gameplay concept that is damn fun. Judging by the demo, the game is mighty sweet, since you get to leap across rooftops and run on walls 30 floors up, all from first person view, which is a first for this type of game. Controls are simple and very straightforward which lets your just flow the obstacles.

Launch Trailer from mirrors-edge on Vimeo.

Some people created a 2d version of the game. Granted its no where near as fun as the original - but its a neat waste of 5 minutes. Check it out.

GTA 4 gets a Trophy Patch October 27th

Long overdue, GTA 4 will finally get a trophy patch, even though its not retroactive. If you dont know what trophies are, Google can help you, but I'm definitely excited about this. I never finished GTA4 so starting over just to get all the trophies isn't THAT big of a deal for me - but if you're one of the people who beat EVERYTHING, this might be a bitch.
October 27th, Nico will arrive in NYC once again. Along with sackboy but thats a whole other story.

Paper Sack Boy

I love drawing and putting together little paper model thingies. If you've never heard of Little Big Planet game for PS3, look it up. It has a cool little gimmick going for it - its basically a side scroller with user created levels - a new concept for a console. Anywho, this is a little paper doll of one of the characters from the game. Nerdy? Sure, Awesome? Definitely!!
