Poll Results: Brakes or Brakeless
Well, how about this.
Majority of our readers are a bunch of brakeless freaks. 38% on them on brakeless baby bikes and 16% on brakeless skinny tire fixie jobbies. That's 54% of you, more then half who chose to either jam them kicks in or do wicked skids. Salut.
Me? I like brakes. My 20 is brakeless simply because I only dink around and don't go fast on it, but my 24, 26 and 700 - I need all the means of slowing down fast I can gather. Brakeless 24/26 is a bit fast/nutty for my taste. I must admit, I do like how "clean" the lines of a bike look minus all the cables/levers/calipers, but oftentimes, when its late at night and the 'ol focus and energy level is not where it should be, I need the comfort of a brake squeeze.

Yowelli LOL Jam Recap

Yowelli lol Jam This Saturday
Yowelli, being the bike ambassador that he is, is throwing a jammer this weekend open for all types of bikes (sorry, no pennyfarthings allowed). Maybe this is his way of saying "Hey kids, it doesn't matter what you ride, as long as you ride." That's why I am going to murder ya'll in my folding recumbent whip. I dare you to try me. I DARE YOU!
sike, i'll be working in Boston this weekend and won't be able to show off my sweet ass lazy boy cruiser, but ya'll should go and make this thing official. Methinks Curtis and Gatito will be in attendance to document, hope you capture the moment for me.

And as a little bonus, this video below, shot entirely in Dumbo, Brooklyn. The song is not bad flow is decent, but its interesting how an expensive neighborhood can be edited to kind of look like grimy part of NYC. Kind of.

Pride Street Once Again
When we first mentioned Pride Street Frames waaay back there was alot of unknowns. There are still some unknowns about the frames, as far as we know, but they are very close to being available. There are 14x110 and 10x135 versions of both 24" and 26" frames - alot more information can be found throughout VVCForce. I'm really liking the funky black finish, so fresh. Spring Sunshine in Cunningham Park
This Saturday was unarguably the nicest day of the year, so far. Met up with 3 of my good people around 11am to take a lil ride around Cunningham park - hit up the pumptrack and the jumps. Even though the riding was mellow and fun, half of our crew took some serious diggers.
Overall it was a great time in the sun, in the forest, in the city. I got a chance to test out my new setup in the dirt, which turned out to be a hoot! My boy Rob aka rpet took a few great shots, check out his Flickr to see many more. Its going to be a good year!
