2004 - Rennen Rollenlager + .243 with 24"s and 26"s

Rennen Rollenlager was a godsent at the time when people were just starting to ditch their derailleurs in favor of the singlespeed drivertrain as far as MTB street/park/dirt riding is concerned. All the "Urban Assault" capable frames had vertical dropouts - making dialing in a nice tight chain a pain in the ass, without a tensioner.

Scroll through the pictures, and below you will see Soul Cycles singlespeed device (or something like that) - and you will notice how bent to shit it is. Hint: its not built tough enough for grinding on it. Now take a good look at the Rennen device - tough as hell, grinding encouraged. Quality. Below you will also find yet another variation of my .243, both with 24" and 26" wheels. I loved that bike.

A fun fact - see those Hussefelt cranks? Taken from my Kona Stuff, onto the .243 and they are STILL being used to this day on my Transition Bottlerocket. How is that for making parts last, or riding like a bitch. Either or.

VVC Force 2009 Video is Murderous

VVC Force regularly kills it with all sorts of shit. Its like TheComeUpBMX but where everyone is actually just having fun and likes each other. This video is awesome. Makes me want to put my 20 on the shelf and spend more time on the big bike.

Pride-Street Frames - Russia keeping it lucrative

Pride-street, a Russian bike co that doesn't even have a website yet, but the hype is already there. Seems like everywhere you look, as long as you look outside US of A, everyone is talking about these upcoming frames. They dont seem to do anything to drastically different. Eventhough there are no official numbers yet, from what I gathered here and there its going to be about 4.2 lbs, nice and short, integrated hs, no seat clam = wedge post is a must. Both 24 and 26 versions will be available. But the best part? Handbuilt in Russia!

I have 4 bikes as of now, 2 of which are generic catalog brands, another 1, my freeride/dh Transition Bottlerocket - while not generic, is pretty popular, and 1 that is unique, uncommon, a hand full of people have them, a gem - my Tonic Fallguy. I only know of 1 other person here in immediate NYC who rides a Tonic. I've had it for over 4 years and as the time to upgrade is upon me, it appears that another Fallguy is not in the cards - there are none to be bought unless I want used or wait until spring for a Taiwan version - something I most definitely do not want.

Hammer and Sickle as a head badge? YES PLEASE! Hopefully its possible to get a 24 with that on. These frames are obviously unfinished in these photos, but it would be neat to get that clearcoated and ride it raw like that....

Tioga Power Blocks - Lighter then FS100?

My boy Tim brought these tires to my attention - pattern looks good when compared to the similar FS100s. FS's proved to be mighty street tires, since they roll super smooth, felt pretty light for a non folding rubber, yet are sturdy enough for NYC street glass warfare. Seems like the addition of mini knobbies on the sides will sharpen up handling when the leaning gets mean, while the bigger wider smooth knobs down the middle will ensure straight line speed. Obviously comes in 24", or it wouldn't be C2D material.

I will deffinately get my hands on a set and see whats what, since my ultra sexy Schwalbe Tabletop front tore a sidewall and exploded in the midle of the night. This is a bit of a side story, but let me tell you, when you have close to 70psi in a mounted tire, and it explodes - it littearaly sounds louder then a gunshot - and I know, being a russian youth you were more or less required to spit off a handfull of live AK47 rounds in preparation for the imminent threat of the capatalist and bourgeoisie pig. It was comming around to be 9pm, nice quite evening, a little bit of Air mixing its melody with candles and a bing bing. A floor session.... then BOOM!!! It was such a shock, my hands were litteraly shacking for 5 minutes - and the thought of permanent damage crossed my mind. Brutal.

Not sure where this guy is from, and he's not really doing anything crazy, but there is something about this vid that i like and he's having fun on his bike, thats for sure. Can't wait to go for a ride.

KHE Mac2 24" Park Tire, 480g!

Nice. At 480g its 80g lighter then the already light Schwalbe Table Top 24" Folding tire. Dang.
These should be perfect for street/park and super quick for just general tearing around town. Super pricey for a bicycle tire, but well worht it, if its anything like the Mac's on my 20".
