Anyone been following this story? Doc slams on brakes after passing pesky bike riders sending one thru the window and the other over the car?

Thompson called 911. A recording of the call picked up Thompson telling one of the cyclists: "Get your bike out of the road, why don't you?"
The doctor told the 911 operator about the profanity the cyclists yelled at him. "I slammed on my brakes. They went into me."
The operator asked if the injuries were serious.
"Not really, but they'll tell you that," Thompson replied.

just another reminder to stay low on the streets. drivers, as well as riders, can be real assholes - except drivers have 2 tonns of steel to keep in check....

perhaps you're not a biker, or perhaps you never had an scary moments riding in nyc/city, or perhaps you're just a bad ass motherfucker.
but people do care.
some people are dangerous, clueless, self centered, thoughtless douchebags.
Bike, car ped - it can be any, its just the car ones have the aforemetioned 2 tons of steel and therefore a lot more 'impact'
Not tryin to hate, but most of these story's involve bikers who could have avoided these situations. we, as bikers, are more vulnerable, but that doesn't make us kings of the road. picking a fight or becoming aggressive with a person who's driving a 2 ton vehicle is stupid.
Most of these stories involved drivers breaking the law in a violent and indifferent manner.
Yes, you should not play chicken, but no you dont cede your rights or right of way as a practical matter.
In this case, assuming the fundamentals are correct, how does on avoid a drunk, unpredictable, belligerant driver?
Its a good idea to hand your wallet over to a gun toting mugger, but that doesnt mean he should get away with it does it?
Mixed up stories; nonethelss, in this case it appears the driver deliberately braked hard in front of them.
Why would one expect that, and how does one avoid that? This guy felt they were a nuisance and took it way too far. I hope he doesn't own a gun, because this kind of impulsive and thoughtless action indicates a real anger and judgement issue.
Also, if i read correctly, it wasnt the driver's first time fucking with bikers on this road
and he's supposed to be a fuckin doctor. wearing scrubs on the way to work. fuck this dude and his overpriced nissan.
